After nine years of building travel websites and technologies that began in 1995, Travopoly was born as a brand in 2004. Back in 1995, if you can remember what the Internet was, almost no one had a website yet. AOL was all the rage and Expedia wasn’t even a conceived (born in 1997). By the turn of the century, travel had grown significantly online, and brick & mortar agencies were being threatened.
In 2000, our team became the first ever to create a meta-search travel engine. That company, called QIXO, was a pioneer in what would become a universal theme in online travel, like “click one and done”. Today, Kayak and Trivago are the new age meta-search companies searching hundreds of websites at the same time. In 2017, Travopoly is looking at the leading edge, once again, of online and offline travel marketing, technology and even… alchemy.
The next evolution of travel...
In the 22 years, Travopoly's created, Mr. Robert Oblon has been being a disrupter in the travel industry, his vision has definitely been pioneering. Having the foresight to see the future of online travel back in 1995, he was a struggling designer building websites for companies beginning to see the possibility of the world-wide web.
Before long, Mr. Oblon partnered with one of the leading travel agencies in Southern California, Archer Travel Services, where he spent the next several years becoming one of the most sought after online travel developers of the time. In the early 2001, he was introduced to the first travel network marketing company. From there, travel and mlm would never be the same.
By the end of 2004, combining the previous decades worth of online travel marketing knowledge, a revolutionary technology and a vision to help home-based entrepreneurs win using travel as a product, Mr. Oblon set out to create his own travel mlm. Originally using Travopoly as the brand, it morphed into a concept called iDealinTravel, another play on words brand meant to inspire the type of business you were in. But in in the summer of 2005, the final brand was conceptualized and then launched by the end of that year.
Since then, Mr. Oblon has been the visionary behind multiple brands, video production and unique concepts such as Vacationars™ and Crowd Vacations®. His incredible knack for coining brands and building real business around them has earned him the right to be called a pioneer in travel by his peers.
Now, in 2017, Travopoly is embarking on yet another incredible twist in travel, vacation social gamification and "documarketing". Travopoly's new brand WannaTravelTo.com is already leading the charge for a new way of marketing online and offering unparalleled value to its community of travel members.
